Moving to a new website!
Posted on
Hello!
I hope you are well and had a wonderful Beltane? The Glastonbury town was full of so many wonderful people yesterday. All dressed up and marching up the Highstreet. It really is something you must come as see one day. :)
So a few nights ago I had the crazy idea of scrapping the website I have spent the last 2 years building and starting a new one. The website builder that I was using was suggested to me because apparently it was the easiest to us…..Oh now wrong they were. (Lesson learnt – Always trust my gut!). While I was unpublishing my old website and scrapping it, I wasn’t sure if it was the smartest move to make but I think it is the right one. My old website was just…..CRAP! It didn’t matter how hard I tried to get it looking good, it just wasn’t working. So I am now on day 3 of building this new website, the bones of it are in place but I still have a lot of tweaks I need to make and aren’t you lucky that I can now blog, so you also get to read my minds ramblings!
I must say I really am loving the website builder that I'm now using. It has been so much easier to list items and get the website looking just how I want it. It's clean and so much more user friendly. It is also now looking a lot more professional (in my opinion), my old one looked like it was made by my 7 year old son and to be honest he probably could have done a better job.
I'm now trying my best to get as many items as possible that I have in my physical shop onto my online shop. Taking pictures seems to be the most time-consuming part at the moment but I am getting it done as quickly as possible. I then need to finish all my descriptions, that part is proving the hardest as my brain feels like jelly (must still be baby brain, right? Even though my youngest is almost 5! Or the fact that I haven’t really slept since having my first son 13 years ago).
I have a day out of the shop tomorrow (my wonderful friend covers on Tuesdays for me).....that doesn't mean a day off work but I will be able to carry on tweaking and changing the website, in the comfort of my own home (after I have cleared the house from the carnage, that the children have created over the bank holiday weekend).
Anyway enough rambling for today, I hope you are enjoying your bank holiday Monday.
Cara. :)
